Monday Morning Perspective

How's your walk? That was the question posed yesterday. Our walk is our lifestyle. We talked about how we get started in our walk with Christ. When we believe in Jesus, He deposits His light in our life through the person of the Holy Spirit. That light can never go out but it can turn into a flicker. When we continue to choose to live in sin, that fellowship with God is broken. The light reveals the darkness in our life and should drive us to Him. Our beliefs should affect our behavior.
My favorite part of the message was the focus on verse 7 of 1John 1. Eddie pointed out that if it was just the love of God that saved us then John would've said "for God so loved the world He saved the world". But without the blood there's no forgiveness. When the writers were writing they had no idea that blood cleanses. But God did. Now scientists talk about it as cleansing. The writers only knew that it stained.
We've had a great start to 1John. Next week is Father's Day and Eddie and our boys will be sharing. Please pray for them this week as they prepare together to speak what God would have them to and use it to build up all of our families.
