A Getaway between this and that

As I write we are headed back home to help our newlywed kids get moved into their apartment. Eddie and I had decided that even if we only had a few days, it would be worth it to get away to our happy place...
Yes this it it. Sneeking in a few days to do nothing is hard to do but worth it. Last weekend was Stephen and Kaylin's wedding...
And John's senior baseball season starts this week...
Don't even get me started there. So we decided to sandwich a quick getaway between the two. So with a full, busy, full of commitments fall, the Christmas season, a family wedding and baseball season approaching, we headed to the beach for "us" time. We relaxed, ate at our fave restaurants, relaxed, shopped, relaxed, drank coffee, and relaxed. I can get used to all of that quickly and get very lazy. I love that we still love going off just the two of us. I love that we love the same places and the way to relax looks pretty much the same to us both. My happy place is the beach, although I do prefer it about 30 degrees warmer than it was this trip, but actually my happy place is with Eddie wherever that is. Getaways are fun and needed but coming home is fine with me too. We've checked off a lot of things over the past months and there will be a new "to do" list waiting, but it's all good. I can't be lazy forever...
A rainy beach one day turns quickly
And thankfully Starbucks is pretty much everywhere.

Monday Morning Perspective

We continued our journey through 1 John  on Sunday as my husband preached a great message on prayer. I had one tell me it was meant just for her and I know exactly what she meant. I felt the same way. I'm always needing a challenge in the area of my prayer life. It seems bible study comes so easy but prayer is truly hard work. I think Satan battles against us harder to keep us from prayer because he knows that's where the sweetness of our relationship with God is found and our faith grows.
Eddie gave us many points worth pondering and examining against our lives. He told us how we can be confident that God hears our prayers but also the conditions for answered prayer.
I love this series! We have a few more weeks to go, don't miss!
There's so many things to be excited about at Fairview! I love seeing so many young couples at church. Eddie and I will start back on Jan 26th with our small group for engaged and young married couples at our house. We are always open to more who want to join us. Get in touch and let me know if you'd like to come. Our young couples would love to meet and connect with you.  I love it when a student comes up and introduces us to a teacher visiting. That's a great thing!! I hope you're excited about HOPE week that was introduced  Sunday. Reserve that week and sign up to be a part of sharing the hope of Jesus in our city. As Eddie told you we will kick off another service starting Feb 21st at 6pm. It will be in the Alive Center. That's going to be a great opportunity for those who can't be at church on Sunday morning and we can reach an entirely new realm of people. Get connected or stay connected. I believe Fairview is the greatest place to be!

Monday Morning Perspective

We kicked off 2016 with a bang Sunday at Fairview. What a great place to be if you want to be a part of a church family that is determined to make an impact in our area and around the world. Our first time tent was awfully busy, energy level was at an all time high and 5 new families made decisions to join with us.
Cross Talk was definitely ready for the new year as they led worship and my man brought another great message from 1John 5 that allowed us to know that we know that we have eternal life with Jesus. We don't want anyone going into the new year questioning their salvation. We want all who are saved to embrace it and celebrate it every day and move forward in discipleship. Questioning and wondering about our salvation is a miserable way to live.
Eddie focused on the work of Jesus, the witness of the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God. I loved the illustrations of the two Hebrew families! Like Eddie said, it's simple, don't complicate it. It's real, don't miss it.
