Monday Morning Perspective

Wow...another awesome message in our family series from Ephesians.
I love series like this that are so practical, encouraging yet convicting as well.  I also love how this message was a great word for children but also a word to parents.  We saw that children are called to obey and honor not because parents are always right but because it is right.  Also love how Eddie pointed out that disobedience in the home is a downward spiral and can set the tone of your life.
The word he gave to parents was very helpful.  Pointing out the things we need to avoid...fault finding, favoritism,  overprotection, neglect, abuse and pushing too hard as well as the things we need to incorporate...clear and consistent discipline as well as lots of love and time was so helpful.
Favorite part today...the sermon after the sermon.  I loved the leadership my husband displayed as he shared the importance of keeping the main thing the main thing!!  Some things just don't matter in the whole realm of eternity and we need to recognize the things that do matter.  Very thankful for a pastor who keeps the main thing in front of us even if it steps on our toes...that's what God calls our pastors to do!  Thank you for being faithful to do that when we need it, I love you!!
