Election time at last

I absolutely can't believe it. After what seems like a lifetime, it's finally here--Election Day 2008. I wish I could say that I am excited because I am excited for what is to come and excited at the prospect of who our new pres. will be but that's not really the case. I am actually excited that it is just about over. I am so tired of the commercials, so tired of the criticisms and jokes made of people we should be able to respect, so tired of the fussing and fighting over who's gonna do what. In actuality whomever gets elected is probably not going to keep their promises and they are going to do things they said they wouldn't do and so forth and so on. Praise God I do know someone who always keeps his promises and never lets me down. The only one capable of that is our Lord Jesus. How grateful I am that the answer to life's problems is not found in the White House, at least not for me. I guess I would be wringing my hands in worry and losing sleep if I thought that the person we elected tomorrow was the one who was ultimately in control, but hallelujah he is not. My fellow Christians out there, the Lord said that His people are to humble themselves and pray and seek His face and then will he heal our land. We need to be faithful in that folks. The Lord holds us responsible to lift our voices to Him and seek Him with all our heart. And let me add this... even if the one we vote for doesn't get elected, we are responsible for lifting him up in prayer. He will need it. There are so many issues and problems that he will never be able to handle in his own strength, hopefully he realizes this as well. Pray, pray, pray. And don't forget to vote.
